Logo Benz: Olamide and Lil Kesh Need a Time Out!
Logo Benz Review: As the quest for more club friendly songs increase, the dumping of inappropriate musical content has become the major commodity of the music market. In the past, other musicians have produced such heart wrenching contents. Like Olu Maintain’s “Yahooze” to 9ice “Living things” and a couple of others but none has gone as far as Olamide.
Let’s give a quick rundown of Olamide’s nuances;
Story for the gods encourages date rape
Science student encourages drug abuse
Poverty die encourages Yahoo
And now the most recent, Logo Benz encourages money rituals.
While the song is originally owned by Lil Kesh, Olamide expressly said “I dey pray to Jesu ko owo wole (I am praying to Jesus for money to enter), if money no enter I go do blood money o. I dey pray to Allah ko owo wole oo (I am praying to Jesus for money to enter), if money no enter I go do blood money o.” Mr Eazy originally endorsed the song on twitter but when he saw Nigerians come at Olamide and Lil Kesh, he immediately deleted his tweet. His hypocrisy is a topic for another time.
Replying to angry Nigerians, Olamide claimed he was creating awareness. But throughout the course of the song, never once did he condemn the act. If anything, he kept singing for girls to take off their pants and give to them. If it was a joke, he picked a terrible time for it. The circulation of this song should be nipped and banned from airing on all mass media outlet.
As we have stated earlier, Olamide is a terrible influence on youth, society and the music industry in general. Everything about his music screams societal vice. Even his record label is called “Yahoo Boy, No Laptop”.
